The Experience

Your night begins with a pickup in Tromsø. Step into a modern heated van, where your small group (max 8-20 guests) is welcomed by your professional guide — also your dedicated photographer.

Throughout the night, our back office coordinates live updates from 150+ team members and family across Lapland. This unique network ensures we always know where skies are clear. If conditions shift, we move too — sometimes across borders — until the Aurora appears.

We’ll arrive at the Happy Fox Forest Farm away from any disturbing city light and head for the lean on to enjoy the magic of the northern lights and the star filled skies of the North. Then we take lanterns and head to the dark forest.

At the forest we make observations of nature and experience the excitement of darkness in midst of the forest. A local guide tells about surrouding nature and stories about the old Finnish ways, Gods and elfs.

We will stop at the perfect spot an open place by beatiful mire area facing to northern sky. Here we will take and learn to take photos of the northern lights.

At the Autumn we might see the double Auroras reflecting on the river before the snow comes and the river get ice cover.

If the fox is pleased with us – as the old saying goes – we may be granted the chance to view the northern lights.Should the northern lights not be seen, the experience in the midst of nature is still unforgettable.

We’ll cook sausages on open fire and enjoy some campfire coffee or tea in a lean-to back at the farm, get knowledge about Auroras and hear stories about life by Ounasjoki river.

You may attend this trip in your own winter gear – if needed, we’ll provide you with the necessary winter gear (overalls and winter boots).

Comfortable and warm clothing 

Your day begins in Santa Claus Village where you can go and meet Santa Claus in his chamber. Early birds get the worm, so getting early to the Arctic Circle means less crowds and best experience. Visiting Santa Claus’ Main Post Office is also a must and it is located right here, in Santa Claus Village on the Arctic Circle. You will find out that an amazing number of letters that are coming in daily from all over the world. Before we leave the village, you will have time for own explorations and to do some shopping in the boutiques and souvenir shops.

We gather for delicious soup lunch after the Santa Claus Village experience, this is the perfect time for you to share experiences with your fellow travellers and your guide.

The tour continues to a reindeer farm by snowmobiles. At the farm, you will get to know the reindeer and their daily life, and of course experience a nice ride in a reindeer sleigh before returning to the city. 

The order of the activities may vary according to availability and weather conditions. 

Casual winter clothing and winter hat. Provided outfit includes thermal overall, boots, woollen socks, mittens, helmet for snowmobiling.

We will pick you up from your choice of  pick-up hotel points in Helsinki city center according to agreed time. Ferry check-in closes 30 mins prior to departure. Due the traffic peak hour in the morning, we suggest you get ready for the trip on time. 

After hotel pick-up, we go for the cruise across the Gulf of Finland to Estonia by comfortable ferry. 

You will reach Tallinn around 11:15. You will be greeted by our Guide and 3 hour guide tour starts from the harbour. During the tour, you will see the main city square and the Tallinn Town Hall, houses of guilds from Middle Ages, towers, Aleksander Nevsky Cathedral, Toompea Castle and much more. Tallinn, Estonia’s capital on the Baltic Sea, retains its walled, cobble stoned Old Town, home to cafes and shops, as well as Kiek in de Kök, a 15th-century defensive tower. The Old Town, dating from around the 15th century, is Estonia’s only UNESCO World Heritage site, and is more than worthy of the title.  After the guided tour you will have time to spend on our own to explore the lovely cafes, restaurants and small shops. 

At 17:30 you will be at the agreed transfer meeting points and our driver will take you back to Tallinn harbour since the ferry return to Helsinki leaves at 18:30. On the ferry returning to Helsinki, you can relax and enjoy the services on board. You will arrive in Helsinki at 21:00 and transfer back to your pick-up hotel points.

• We will send to you the cruise tickets and tour instructions, please print them and bring them with you.

• Please make sure your phone is ON during the tour day.

• Printed booking confirmation and e-tickets both are accepted.

• We recommend you wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

• In the summer, the weather may change rapidly. It is good to bring a light coat or a cardigan and an umbrella just in case.

• In wintertime, warm winter clothes with a scarf and hat are recommended as the temperature can be as low as -35 Celsius degrees.

• It is recommended that you have travel insurance because in the very unlikely event of an accident the health care costs may be high.
