Once booked, the entire private sauna, shower room, dressing room, and lounge are reserved exclusively for your group — no other bookings during your stay.

On-site luggage storage means you can drop your bags and settle in before hotel check-in, or spend your last hours in Rovaniemi relaxing after checkout.

Pickup in Tromsø. Your night starts with pickup in a modern, heated van, where your small group (max 8–20 guests) meets your professional guide — who is also your dedicated photographer.

Live Aurora tracking. Through the night, a back-office team combines satellite forecasts, weather models and live field reports to find where the sky is clearest. If conditions change, you move too — sometimes across the border — until the Aurora appears.

Arctic scenery above Tromsø. Surrounded by fjords, mountains and islands, Tromsø sits above the Arctic Circle and is one of the world's best-known places to see the Northern Lights. Unlimited mileage and flexible routes mean the search can range wherever the skies are clearest.

Under the Aurora. When the lights appear, you'll stand beneath the Arctic night sky while your guide captures the moment in professional DSLR photos, delivered securely online after the tour. Hot drinks, light snacks and thermal overalls keep you warm, even down to –40°C.

As long as it takes. Most tours last 3–4 hours; this one typically runs 6–10 hours with unlimited time and mileage, so the chase continues until the Aurora is found.

You're picked up from your chosen hotel in Helsinki city centre at the agreed time. Morning traffic can be heavy, so it's a good idea to be ready in good time — ferry check-in closes 30 minutes before departure.

From the port, you board a ferry for the crossing across the Gulf of Finland to Estonia, arriving in Tallinn at around 11:15.

Your guide meets you at the harbour for a 3-hour guided walking tour of the city. You'll see the main city square, the Tallinn Town Hall, guild houses dating from the Middle Ages, historic towers, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Toompea Castle and the 15th-century defensive tower Kiek in de Kök. The tour takes in Tallinn's walled, cobblestoned Old Town, which dates from around the 15th century and is Estonia's only UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After the guided tour, you have free time to explore the Old Town's cafes, restaurants and small shops at your own pace.

At 17:30, you return to the agreed transfer meeting point, where a driver takes you back to the harbour for the ferry's 18:30 departure to Helsinki. You can relax on board and enjoy the on-board services during the crossing, arriving back in Helsinki at around 21:00, where you're transferred back to your pick-up hotel.

Required documents

• Bring the passport for every traveller in your group — this is essential for the ferry crossing to Estonia.
• You will receive your cruise tickets and tour instructions in advance; please print these and bring them with you.
• A printed booking confirmation or an e-ticket are both accepted.

Check-in and communication

• Ferry check-in closes 30 minutes before departure. Morning traffic can be heavy, so allow enough time to be ready for pick-up.
• Keep your phone switched on throughout the tour day.

What to wear

• Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended for the walking tour.

Seasonal preparation

• In summer, weather can change quickly — a light coat or cardigan and an umbrella are recommended, just in case.
• In winter, warm clothing with a scarf and hat is recommended, as temperatures can drop as low as -35°C.

Insurance

• Travel insurance is recommended, as health care costs can be high in the unlikely event of an accident.

Pick-up

Your guide picks you up from your accommodation, usually between 17:00 and 19:00, and gives a short introduction to the evening, including where you'll be driving and what to expect.

The hunt for clear skies

Your guide continuously checks aurora forecasts, cloud coverage, solar activity, and geomagnetic conditions, adjusting the route in real time. This stage can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, and if needed the group will drive 350+ km across Lapland to reach clear skies.

Northern Lights and photography

Once you're under clear skies, it's time to enjoy the aurora. Your guide captures the moment on a high-quality DSLR camera so you can focus on watching the lights.

Drive back and drop-off

After the show, the group heads back toward Rovaniemi and everyone is dropped off at their accommodation. Total tour length is typically 4–10 hours, depending on weather and aurora activity.
