Looking for an easy way to hunt for the Northern Lights? Join our convenient minivan tour to chase the auroras! We’ll pick you up from your accommodation and take you on a three-hour journey through the Ivalo, Inari, or Saariselkä areas to find the auroras. Along the way, we’ll stop at the best potential spots to catch the Northern Lights.

This activity includes roasting sausages over an open fire, along with tea, hot chocolate, or homemade hot berry juice.  The ride lasts approximately two hours, and the time by the open fire is about one hour. 

Perfect for those who want to search for the Northern Lights with local guides, visiting unforgettable spots while staying comfortably warm in a cozy car.

In October, our Northern Lights tours will be done by car (4x4 vehicle) instead of a minibus.

Experience the work of a reindeer herder and Finnish winter fishing on the same day!

Your day starts early in the morning. We’ll pick you up from Ivalo, such as from your hotel, and drive by car to the starting point of the activity. From there, we continue by snowmobile to the reindeer herd which consists of hundreds of reindeer. You’ll have the chance to photograph the reindeer and take part in feeding them.

After feeding, we head to a nearby lake where you can try traditional fishing methods, such as checking fishing nets and ice fishing. A warm traditional Sami hut awaits nearby, where we’ll serve lunch. The lunch is homemade reindeer soup or vegan wold mushroom soup, served with fresh cold water and warm homemade berry juice. 

After the activities, we’ll drive you back to the starting point. The experience lasts about six hours and accommodates a maximum of eight people. The minimum group size for the activity is two people. Please note that the activity can only be arranged if there are at least two participants.

What to bring

Warm clothing and equipment are required to participate in the activity. It is possible to rent clothes through us by contacting in advance. The rental price for insulated safari suit and warm snow shoes is €25 / person. The rent is only for the duration of the activity we organize.

For this day adventure, we welcome you to our reindeer fence to visit the reindeer, grill sausages, and enjoy hot berry juice in the traditional hut in the fence. You will meet our home reindeer who stay in the enclosure to survive the winter. We'll also share insights about reindeer herding and local culture. This activity is located next to Ivalo Airport, making it possible to enjoy a short visit before your flight!

We will pick you up from your choice of  pick-up hotel points in Helsinki city center according to agreed time. Ferry check-in closes 30 mins prior to departure. Due the traffic peak hour in the morning, we suggest you get ready for the trip on time. 

After hotel pick-up, we go for the cruise across the Gulf of Finland to Estonia by comfortable ferry. 

You will reach Tallinn around 11:15. You will be greeted by our Guide and 3 hour guide tour starts from the harbour. During the tour, you will see the main city square and the Tallinn Town Hall, houses of guilds from Middle Ages, towers, Aleksander Nevsky Cathedral, Toompea Castle and much more. Tallinn, Estonia’s capital on the Baltic Sea, retains its walled, cobble stoned Old Town, home to cafes and shops, as well as Kiek in de Kök, a 15th-century defensive tower. The Old Town, dating from around the 15th century, is Estonia’s only UNESCO World Heritage site, and is more than worthy of the title.  After the guided tour you will have time to spend on our own to explore the lovely cafes, restaurants and small shops. 

At 17:30 you will be at the agreed transfer meeting points and our driver will take you back to Tallinn harbour since the ferry return to Helsinki leaves at 18:30. On the ferry returning to Helsinki, you can relax and enjoy the services on board. You will arrive in Helsinki at 21:00 and transfer back to your pick-up hotel points.

What to bring

  • We will send to you the cruise tickets and tour instructions, please print them and bring them with you.

  • Please make sure your phone is ON during the tour day.

  • Printed booking confirmation and e-tickets both are accepted.

  • We recommend you wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

  • In the summer, the weather may change rapidly. It is good to bring a light coat or a cardigan and an umbrella just in case.

  • In wintertime, warm winter clothes with a scarf and hat are recommended as the temperature can be as low as -35 Celsius degrees.

  • It is recommended that you have travel insurance because in the very unlikely event of an accident the health care costs may be high.
