You start with a warm welcome in Äkäslompolo and meet the small family of Alaskan huskies in training to become future sport and running dogs.
After a safety briefing and harness fitting, you're paired 1:1 with your own husky, with time to build trust before setting off.
Your husky walks in front, attached to you by a comfortable waist harness, as you head out on a guided walk (or snowshoe, in winter) of 2–5 km along local forest trails around Äkäslompolo and, conditions permitting, routes within Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park.
The pace is relaxed, with frequent stops for photos, rest, and time with your husky, and your guide shares insights into daily life with sled dogs along the way.
