You're picked up from your accommodation in Utsjoki (within about 10 km) and driven roughly an hour to a small, private husky farm on the Norwegian side of the Teno River.
An experienced local musher gives you safety instructions and shows you the basics of steering and controlling speed before you set off.
You'll drive a shared dog sled — taking turns with your sledding partner as driver and passenger — for about 10-15 km (roughly 1.5-2 hours), with the dog teams automatically following the musher's lead team through the silent arctic landscape.
Back at the farm, warm up with hot drinks and snacks by an open fire and learn more about the huskies and their training before the transfer back to Utsjoki.
