Your day starts with pick-up within about 10 km of Utsjoki village, or you meet at the storage point where you're fitted with a helmet and extra winter gear.
From there you head into the fells by snowmobile, riding as a passenger in a sled towed behind your guide's snowmobile, out to wherever the reindeer herd currently is.
Once you reach the herd, you join a real day of Sámi reindeer herding — you can help feed the reindeer from the hay sleds, take in the fell views and wildlife of the Paistunturi wilderness area, and hear your guide's stories about life in the Arctic and reindeer herding, with hot drinks and snacks along the way.
The tour runs about 2–3 hours depending on where the herd is, after which you return to the village and are dropped off at your accommodation.
