You're picked up from Utsjoki or Nuorgam (or nearby) and driven to the Arctic coast, to the harbour in Vadsø or Vardø depending on the season.
You're fitted with a thermal floating suit, goggles, gloves and a life vest before heading out onto the Varanger fjord with experienced captains aboard a rib boat.
In spring, tens of thousands of Arctic seabirds and several whale species migrate to the fjord to nest and feed, and you spend 2-3 hours driving and drifting with the boat to watch for them — weather and season permitting, you may reach Hornøya bird island.
Back at the harbour you can spend some free time exploring the town before being driven back to your accommodation in Utsjoki or Nuorgam, with a stop possible at a Norwegian or Finnish supermarket on the way.
