Walk the wild trails of Arctic Lapland, 1:1 with your own husky, on a small-group experience based around Äkäslompolo and Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park. This hands-on tour offers a meaningful alternative to sledding, with time to connect with the dogs and the landscape. After a warm welcome in Äkäslompolo, you’ll meet our small family of Alaskan huskies, all in training to become future sport and running dogs. Each guest is paired 1:1 with their own husky, allowing time to build trust and work together.
Before setting off, we introduce you to how we train our dogs — calm communication, steady walking, and teamwork. Your husky walks in front, attached to you by a comfortable waist harness, gently pulling as you move together.
We then head out on a 2–5 km guided walk, using local forest trails around Äkäslompolo and, depending on conditions, routes within Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park.
Autumn: peaceful forest paths, golden colours, and open fell views
Winter: snowshoeing along compacted snowy trails, Arctic silence, and frozen wilderness
The pace is relaxed, with frequent stops for photos, rest, and time to connect with your husky. Along the way, we share insights into daily life with sled dogs — training, feeding, care, and what it’s like to raise a team in Arctic Lapland.
This experience is active but accessible, focused on connection rather than speed.
