Meet your guide at the office (Korkalonkatu 36, Rovaniemi) at 09:45, then set off on a roughly one-hour drive through scenic Lappish countryside to Auttiköngäs.
Once there, hike the 3.6-kilometre circular trail through taiga forest for 1–2 hours. Along the way you'll pass the 16-metre Auttiköngäs Waterfall and the remnants of a historic log flume and dam, cross the River Auttijoki on a hanging bridge, and climb to the observation tower atop Könkäänvaara Hill for sweeping views over the wilderness.
After the hike, warm up with a barbecue by the fireplace before the one-hour drive back to Rovaniemi.
