Itinerary

DEPARTURE / ARRIVAL TO YLLÄS NAT. PARK

For a smooth arrival to Lapland, transfers from Kittilä airport (KTT) are arranged by our team. Based on your time of arrival, your guide will drive you to your own wooden cabin (check-in from 15:00). They will introduce you the area and make sure that you feel like home in your vacation place. A transfer to the supermarket can also be arranged at the beginning or during your stay, as the closest supermarket is located 15min away (larger stores are 25min away).

Transfers from Rovaniemi can also be arranged (not included in this package) - please contact our Nordic Odyssey team.

Your experience

Located 30 minutes from the Kittilä Airport, the national park of Yllästunturi is one of most beautiful nature destinations of Lapland. We love so much this area and wanted to share the place with our guests that we have designed the perfect getaway for a wonderful winter holiday. The package includes accommodation in an independent wooden cottage and a week activity program led by a private professional guide.

Our passionate guide team have crafted a full week of activities in the area that allow you to enjoy various high-quality experiences with a private guide and make the most of Lapland in a serene and exclusive way. As to accommodation, our two private wooden cottages are nestled just at the limit of the national park on the shore of the peaceful Lainiojoki river. They offer comfortable bedrooms, fully-equipped kitchens, saunas and hot tubs, and much more! At night, when the sky is clear, it is usually possible to observe the auroras from the balcony or the hot tub!

Our packages are always from Saturday to Saturday, in accordance with Kittilä flight connections (transfers from Airport are included in this package).

Your guide picks you up at Kittilä Airport and drives you to your private wooden cottage on the shore of the Lainiojoki river (check-in from 15:00), with a supermarket stop available on request.

Settle into your cottage — choose between the Suvanto Cottage (4–5 people) or the Lainiokoski Cottage (8 people) — both with comfortable bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, sauna and hot tub.

Over the week, your private guide leads a program built from a menu of activities, including: Northern Lights photography hunting (4h), a traditional reindeer farm visit and 2km sleigh ride, a small-group husky sleigh ride (10km), ice fishing on a frozen lake combined with a short snowshoe hike, snowshoeing to the top of the fell, a local-cuisine cooking session, a visit to Snow Village, a snowmobile ride, an e-fatbike ride, cross-country skiing, a day trip to Levi, a local supermarket session, and a hot tub session at the cottage.

Book online by choosing your cottage and selecting 7 of the included activities (extra activities can be added); our team sends your customised program within 48 hours.

At the end of the week, transfer back to Kittilä Airport for your Saturday departure.

What to bring

Bring appropriate clothes, especially beanies/hats, warm ski gloves, warm socks and good ski clothes. We can provide with winter overalls and Sorel winter boots.
