About 30 minutes before pickup you'll get real-time updates on your guide's arrival. After pickup from your address in Rovaniemi, your guide walks you through the operational plan and a safety briefing, plus a presentation on the science behind the Northern Lights.
You'll then drive to several locations around Lapland - and into Sweden if needed, no passport required - chosen to escape light pollution and give the best views, with snacks and hot drinks along the way.
Your guides, aurora experts based in Rovaniemi, lead you to the best photography spots and take professional photos of you with the Northern Lights, delivered online about a day after the tour, while also showing you how to photograph the aurora on your own phone.
The evening runs 4 to 6+ hours depending on the auroral forecast, and you're dropped back at your accommodation at the end. In a small group of up to 8 guests, or one van per night, if bad weather rules out any chance of seeing the lights, the tour is cancelled with a full refund or rescheduled for another day. The tour runs from late August to April.
