If you’ve ever dreamed of walking through a photogenic white forest, then Riisitunturi National Park in winter is the perfect destination. The snow-covered spruce trees here take on surreal shapes, draped in thick layers of frost that create a magical, fairytale atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else.
What makes this adventure even more special is the presence of a professional photographer who will accompany the group throughout the hike. Imagine yourself surrounded by towering, frozen trees, with a skilled photographer capturing your moments in this breathtaking winter landscape. Whether you’re walking between the frosted giants or pausing to take in the silence, you’ll go home with beautiful images to remember the day.
Our adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel or accommodation. Located in the charming municipality of Posio, about 160 km from Rovaniemi, Riisitunturi National Park spans over 77 square kilometers and is known for its dramatic ridges, frozen lakes, and ancient snow-laden forests. While it’s a stunning destination year-round, winter transforms the park into a truly cinematic experience.
The hike is moderate, covering around 4 kilometers of pristine winter trails. Be sure to wear warm, layered clothing and sturdy shoes to stay comfortable throughout the journey.
Along the way, we’ll enjoy the tranquility of nature, stop for hot chocolate, and warm ourselves by a campfire with grilled sausages in the middle of the forest. You’ll also get to learn Finnish survival skills such as chopping firewood and lighting a fire in the snow.
Come join us for a magical winter hike in one of Finland's most enchanting national parks!
