Head off the beaten track on a snowshoe hike of around 2–4km into deep wilderness outside Rovaniemi. Along the way your guide shares insights into the surrounding nature, local life, Arctic survival, and native wildlife — with a stop to light a fire and serve a traditional Finnish snack.
From there, you continue into the forest to a traditional wilderness cabin with a wood-fired sauna. The cabin has no electricity or running water — everything you need comes from the surrounding nature.
Your guide lights the sauna's wood-burner and shows you the Finnish way to use it. A pontoon leads straight to the lake for those brave enough to take a cold dip between sauna rounds — a classic (and healthy) Finnish contrast.
Towels, soap, birch tar oil, and other sauna essentials are provided. The experience is always private, giving you full privacy in the cabin and sauna while your guide prepares hot drinks nearby.
