Lainio Snow Village Tour from Levi — A Different World, Rebuilt from Scratch Every Winter
Every wall, room, sculpture, corridor and bar counter inside Lainio Snow Village is carved by hand from snow and ice. The interior temperature holds at around -6°C all season. Nothing inside is permanent — by spring it is gone, and next winter something entirely different will be built in its place.
Why This Is One of the Most Distinctive Winter Excursions from Levi
- A completely hand-built world of snow and ice — constructed from scratch every November
- A new theme every season — no two years the same
- Interior temperature a constant -6°C — unlike any other place you will eat or walk through
- Guided tour of the exhibition included, followed by free time to explore at your own pace
- Warm berry juice served in the ice bar to close the guided section
- Just 40 minutes from Levi centre
The Snow Village — A New Theme Every Year
Lainio Snow Village is constructed entirely from snow and ice each November. The theme changes every year. Past seasons have included Game of Thrones (2018 and 2019, which drew global media attention), Macro World, Futuristic, Around the World, Nordic Mythology, Underworld, and the Underwater World in 2024–2025. For the 2025–2026 season — the Snow Village’s 25th anniversary — the theme is Pure Celebration: circuses, international festivals, a Rio de Janeiro carnival area, and an ice bar dressed in the colours of Ireland.
The Visit — Guided Tour, Ice Bar and Free Exploration
The tour travels from Levi centre to Lainio, approximately 40 minutes each way. On arrival, a guided tour takes the group through the current year’s exhibition: decorated rooms, hand-carved sculptures, illuminated corridors and the ice bar. At the end of the guided section, warm berry juice is served in the ice bar. Guests then have free time to explore the exhibition at their own pace before the return journey.
