Your guide picks you up in Rovaniemi and drives up to an hour away to reach the clearest patch of sky, based on the weather forecast that evening.
From there, you strap on snowshoes and hike off the beaten path — up to 4 km through deep snow — into wilderness free of light pollution, heading for a hidden lake or hilltop viewpoint.
Along the way, your guide shares the science behind the Northern Lights as well as the legends associated with them, while you watch the sky for aurora activity.
Hot drinks and biscuits are served to keep you warm during the 4-hour tour. If conditions are good, your guide may bring a professional camera to capture the aurora and share the photos with you afterwards, free of charge.
