Your guide leads your private group away from Rovaniemi into elusive wild areas with no light pollution, gliding on deep snow by night.
You'll travel on backcountry skis — equipped with skins that let you both climb uphill and glide downhill — reaching quiet places you couldn't get to by car or on foot.
Because the tour runs at night, you also get a chance to see the Northern Lights. Your guide adapts the route to improve the odds, heading for areas without light pollution and an open view to the north — through forests to a hidden lake, or up to a hilltop with a view over the horizon.
Along the way, your guide shares both the science behind the aurora and the old tales and legends associated with it, plus tips for photographing the lights with your own camera or phone. As a private tour, the terrain and difficulty are adapted to your group's level.
