A young local couple now carries on its legacy, sharing the traditions and culture of Lapland on this 2-hour guided small-group excursion (8:00 PM – 10:00 PM), personally led by the owners themselves.
Escape the city to a peaceful, private location perfect for Northern Lights viewing — while the aurora can never be guaranteed, the evening is packed with activities regardless. Discover the shaman's hut, where ceremonies have been held for decades, and meet Lapland's iconic reindeer for photos and stories about their cultural significance.
Decorate gingerbread cookies by the fire, try your hand at suopunki (traditional reindeer lasso throwing), and slide down the sledding hill or try a kicksled — fun for kids and adults alike. Warm berry juice and small snacks are served throughout your visit.
Extend the evening at the Kota Café inside the Shaman's Hut, with hot cocoa, coffee, tea, grilled sausages and marshmallows by the fire, plus unique souvenirs like reindeer antlers and lichen to feed the reindeer. Larger group excursions are also available on request.
