What happens during your visit
You're welcomed to Shaman Village by its owners — a young local couple who personally guide every tour — at their secluded site on the Ounasjoki River, just 10 km from Rovaniemi.
- Visit the Shaman's Hut, where ceremonies to ward off evil spirits have been held for decades.
- Meet Lapland's reindeer up close, take photos, and learn about their cultural significance.
- Decorate gingerbread cookies by the fire in the cozy hut.
- Try suopunki (lasso) throwing, the traditional skill once used to catch reindeer.
- Take a turn on a kicksled or the sledding hill.
- Try ice fishing on the Ounasjoki River with guidance from local experts.
Warm berry juice and small snacks are served during your 2.5-hour visit (11:00 AM–1:30 PM).
