Welcome to winter wonderland! Because this tour is private, you choose how to live the adventure: a challenging 8–15km hike in the Rovaniemi area, or a drive to another region of Lapland for a typically 4–8km trek toward untouched remote lands, deep forests, or the top of a Lappish fell (our "local mountain").
The experience is designed to explore elusive nature areas and reach viewpoints over the immense subarctic forest. Our team will be in touch beforehand to discuss and advise on the best option and place to go, based on your wishes for scenery and duration.
Along the way, your outdoor guide explains the surroundings — the fauna, flora, and footprints in the snow. A break by an open fire lets you grill a typical Finnish snack with hot beverages, and your guide will show you how to build a fire in arctic conditions and answer your questions about Lapland.
When booking, choose between trekking skis or snowshoes. Snowshoes are easier on every terrain but cover shorter distances; Altai skis glide on deep snow so you go faster and farther, though they can be more technical on hilltops or downhill terrain. Both are accessible to beginners, and your guide adapts the trek to your level.
