Your guide drives you deep into the forest to a traditional wilderness cabin with a log sauna — no electricity, no running water, just a small lake and total peace.
Your guide lights the wood-burning stove and shows you the traditional Finnish way to sauna. A pontoon leads straight into the lake for anyone brave enough to cool off between sauna rounds.
While you relax in the heat, your guide prepares a local snack over the open fire. Towels, soap and birch tar oil are provided — bring a swimsuit, or go the traditional Finnish way.
From May to November the sauna departs at 19:30 for sunset light (with a chance of the Northern Lights from September); a special 21:30 midnight sun departure runs mid-June to mid-July. The whole experience takes about 3.5 hours including transport, with roughly an hour in the sauna.
Add a wilderness dinner — a hearty Finnish soup with warm drinks and sweet pastries, served in the cozy cabin while you steam.
