Reindeer farm and 2km sleigh ride
After pick-up, you're given warm clothes and taken to a 5-generation family reindeer farm outside Rovaniemi. You meet your own reindeer, then set off on a roughly 20-minute, 2km sleigh ride led by a herder — reindeer are semi-wild, so rides aren't self-driven.
Lunch at the farm
Back at the farm, herders and your guide answer questions about reindeer husbandry over a home-made salmon soup (vegan option on request) with hot drinks, plus pancakes cooked over an open fire.
Husky kennel and 5km safari
Your guide then drives you to an ethical husky kennel, where mushers introduce you to your own Alaskan husky dog team and give driving instructions. You take turns as driver and passenger on a self-driven, roughly 20-minute, 5km sled ride.
Time with the huskies
After the safari, spend time with the dogs for cuddles and photos, and chat with the mushers by an open fire.
