Your guide picks you up in the Rovaniemi area (within about 10 km of the city center) and drives you toward the most promising location for the night, based on the weather forecast and solar wind data.
On location
Once at the site, away from city lights and light pollution, your guide follows the forecast and cloud movement in real time to choose the best direction and spot for viewing the aurora.
Aurora hunting
While you wait and watch the sky, your English-speaking guide shares hot berry juice and cookies and photographs your experience with a professional camera. Photos are sent to you by email afterward, along with tips if you brought your own camera.
Return
The tour usually runs 4-8 hours, with daily evening departures from Rovaniemi (September to April) and drop-off back in the Rovaniemi area.
