About 20 minutes from Rovaniemi, a short walk brings you to a frozen lake where your guide sets up camp and lights a fire.
The fire is the heart of the evening — the setting for a Finnish barbecue dinner, and if the weather cooperates, a spot to watch the northern lights or a starlit sky.
Everything you need for the night is provided: a warm sleeping bag, a sturdy tent and a headlamp.
In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, you pack up camp and head back to Rovaniemi with your guide.
