Magic of the Forest and Log Sauna, 4 hours (Private Tour)

Start with a guided walk through the forest at Happy Fox farm along the Ounasjoki river, learning about local flora, berries, and their nurturing and healing effects. Watch how a traditional herbal remedy is made and enjoy a warming herbal tea.

Continue to Fox Cottage, where you can let go of stress in the heat of a traditional log sauna. Round it off with a refreshing herbal foot bath or a soothing hand treatment. Depending on your reservation, you may also relax in the terrace hot tub, surrounded by the forest.

After the sauna, settle into the cozy Fox Cottage lounge for a traditional Finnish dinner, guided throughout by local guides with real knowledge of arctic nature.

• Starting point: Happy Fox Oy, Happy Fox farm, Ounasjoki river, Rovaniemi
• Duration: 4 hours

What to wear

Any outfit suitable for the outdoors works well. Keep an eye on the weather — a rain coat can come in handy, though we also provide rainwear (a poncho). Because the terrain can be wet, choose your shoes accordingly, and note that your clothing may pick up the smell of smoke during the tour.

Sauna facilities

Fox Cottage has separate changing rooms and bathrooms for men and women, with one shared steam room. Wearing a swimsuit or a towel in the sauna is welcome, and towels are provided.
