Your guide picks you up in Rovaniemi for the roughly 1h30 drive to the Korouoma nature reserve. On arrival, you're fitted with ice-cleats for safe, confident walking on the trail's slippery sections.
The hike leads down into the canyon, past pine forest, the river and cliffs, to the best viewpoints for the frozen waterfalls — some of them popular ice-climbing spots, so keep an eye out for climbers on the ice walls. In total the route covers around 5km.
Along the way, your guide shares their knowledge of Arctic nature and passion for Lapland. Partway through, you'll stop for a Finnish barbecue lunch by an open fire (replaced with a sweet snack on afternoon spring departures), before driving back to Rovaniemi.
