Your guide drives you from Rovaniemi to Korouoma Canyon, a 30-kilometre, up to 130-metre deep canyon known for its cliffs, rapids, and winter waterfalls frozen into dramatic ice formations.
You hike through the canyon, taking in the peaceful scenery and spotting tracks left by wolves, lynx, wolverines, moose, reindeer, weasels, or Arctic hares.
Around an open fire, your guide serves a typical Finnish campfire snack and demonstrates traditional fire-starting with flint and steel — even in temperatures as cold as -30°C.
The excursion runs about 7 hours in total, including transportation, roughly 5 kilometres of hiking, and lunchtime around the fire. You're back in Rovaniemi between 16:00 and 17:00, in a small group of up to 8 people.
