Clothing & footwear
Even on warm days, temperatures can dip under the forest canopy or near the waterfalls, so bring a light fleece or windbreaker along with a packable rain shell, since summer showers in Lapland can arrive unexpectedly. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good grip and ankle support are essential on the rocky trails and near slippery falls.
Sun and insect protection
Pack sunglasses, a broad-brimmed hat and high-SPF sunscreen for exposed stretches of the trail. Mosquitoes and black flies can be active in July and August, so apply insect repellent before heading out.
Hydration and extras
Bring water for the 5 km route — there are places to refill from crystal-clear streams along the way — and don't forget your camera to capture the dramatic cliffs and cascading waterfalls.
