Step 1. Your day begins on a frozen wilderness lake, where your guide teaches you the traditional Finnish skill of ice fishing — drilling your own hole through the ice and casting a line into the still water. Whether or not you catch anything, the experience is about the stillness: silence, snow-covered nature, and the simple technique of fishing the old way.
Step 2. From the lake, you're brought to a rustic log-built lakeside sauna, heated the traditional way with a wood-burning stove.
Step 3. Once warmed through, you can step back outside for the full Finnish ritual — a roll in the snow or a dip through a hole cut in the ice — before returning to the sauna's warmth.
The combination is a study in contrasts: cold and heat, stillness and soul, capturing the essence of Lapland's traditions.
