After pick-up from your hotel, AirBnb or apartment in Rovaniemi, your guide runs through a safety briefing covering the day's stops. You then drive about an hour to Ranua Wildlife Park, the northernmost zoo in the world, for a 1.5-2 hour walking tour past Arctic animals such as polar bears and reindeer.
Next is a lunch buffet of local Lappish food, with lactose-free, gluten-free and vegan options available.
From Ranua you drive to Auttiköngäs Waterfall and take a short hike up to the hilltop for panoramic views, then continue to a roughly 1-hour walking tour of Santa Claus Village on the Arctic Circle, followed by a 45-minute hike to the Vikaköngäs Nature Trail beside the Vaattunkijoki River.
On the drive back to Rovaniemi there's a coffee and snack stop, with the option to climb to a hilltop viewpoint for the midnight sun if weather conditions allow, before the tour ends.
