An Evening by the Fire, the Finnish Way
Everyone knows Finns relax in the sauna — but there's another way to unwind, fully dressed. Join us for a Finnish evening at a traditional kota (hut) by the campfire, roasting sausages and marshmallows and enjoying a drink with good company.
If you like, take a short walk into the nearby forest. Some evenings bring the northern lights; other nights, just animal tracks in the snow. Either way, it's a peaceful way to spend an evening — no pressure to see anything in particular, just time to enjoy the company around you, or sit quietly with your own thoughts. Staring into a fire is a long Finnish tradition, and it has a way of clearing the mind.
We'll have the fire ready — just come as you are. A local guide will be there throughout, happy to share stories about life in Lapland. As a Finnish proverb goes: "guests have two ways — to come and to leave." The evening lasts about 1.5 hours.
