Your guide takes care of transportation to the lake, where the canoe trip begins.
Before setting out, you get a full safety briefing and canoeing lesson: how to hold the paddle, move through the water, steer, and what to do if you capsize.
Then it's time to paddle — 60 to 90 minutes on the lake under the Midnight Sun, which never sets in summer. The warm rays and peaceful nature are a welcome change after Lapland's long, dark winter.
Back on shore, warm up by an open fire with traditional Finnish campfire snacks while your guide shows you how to light a fire with flint and steel, and shares stories about Lapland, life in the Arctic, and the Midnight Sun phenomenon.
Groups are capped at 8 people, so your guide can focus on you throughout the 3-hour tour.
