Your guide takes care of transportation to the lake, where the canoe trip begins.
Before setting out, you get a full safety briefing and canoeing lesson: how to hold the paddle, move through the water, steer, and what to do if you capsize.
Then it's time to paddle — 60 to 90 minutes on the lake, at a pace suited to your skill level, surrounded by Lapland's quiet lakes, forests and wildlife such as geese, swans and otters.
Back on shore, warm up by an open fire with traditional Finnish campfire snacks while your guide shows you how to light a fire with flint and steel, and shares stories about life in the Arctic.
Groups are capped at 8 people, so your guide can focus on you throughout the 3-hour tour.
