This 3.5km hike is geared toward the active traveller and includes a moderate elevation gain of 240m. There are metal structures along the trail; the metal stairs have wooden duckboards suitable for dog paws too, and the other metal sections in the gorge can be bypassed via a signposted optional route without metal structures.
After 2 kilometres of walking, catch your breath while enjoying a snack and hot beverage by the open fire.
Auttiköngäs is a dream destination for day-trip visitors. The area's main attraction is the 16-metre-high Auttiköngäs Falls, set within forest so old it can be called primary or virgin forest — there has never been any organised logging here. The terrain is varied and jagged: the large Könkäänvaara Hill reaches 240m, while Ispänävaara Hill, at 190m, is lower but considerably steeper.
