We'll pick you up in the morning from your accommodation and head to Laampivaara Hill in Luosto.
From the car park, we'll walk 2.5km through Pyhä-Luosto National Park to reach the top of the hill.
After a short stop at the café, we'll climb up to the mine, where you'll learn all about this remarkable amethyst mine — more than 2 billion years old and still worked entirely by hand, without any machinery, to this day.
After the explanation, you'll have the chance to go into the mine and dig until you find your own amethyst. If the stone fits whole in your hand, you can take it home as a souvenir. After digging, you can visit the on-site shop, where the jewellery is handmade.
After the excursion, we'll take you back to your accommodation.
