Day 1. Your guide leads you into the wilderness to a bear-watching hut, spotting bear tracks along the way. Settle in behind the hut's wide windows as dusk falls and watch for brown bears foraging in the surrounding bogs — cold snacks and drinks are provided, and comfortable bunk beds with warm sleeping bags await whenever you need to rest.
Day 2. After breakfast, head to Oulanka National Park, known for its river gorges and the famous Karhunkierros (Bear Circuit) trail. Your guide cooks a wood-fired lunch and shares the history, legends and traditions of the brown bear before leading one of four easy hikes (all under 4km) suited to your fitness level.
