Arctic Bushcraft Skills at Pyhä

Professional outdoor guides introduce you to northern bushcraft and how to survive in Arctic conditions.

You practice firemaking and the use of a knife and other essential tools, learning the principles of Finnish bushcraft traditions.

You get to know local materials and how to use them.

You then build your own temporary shelter in winter conditions.

The 3-hour experience ends with lunch.

What to bring

Bring warm clothing according to the weather, plus extra layers and mittens. This activity involves little movement, so warm clothes and shoes matter.

Duration & group size

The experience lasts about 3 hours. Groups range from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 16 people.

Availability

Runs 2 November – 19 March, Monday to Friday.

Pick-up

Pick-up from Pyhä costs an extra €10/person (pick-up 9:15–9:25); from Luosto an extra €20/person (pick-up 8:55–9:05).

Booking conditions

Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event are charged a 100% fee; cancellations less than 14 days before are charged 50%.
