Pickup in Ivalo. Your day starts early with pickup from Ivalo, including your hotel, followed by a drive to the starting point and then a snowmobile ride out to the reindeer herd — hundreds of reindeer in one place.
Meet the herd. Photograph the reindeer up close and take part in feeding them.
Ice fishing. From there, head to a nearby lake to try traditional winter fishing methods, from checking fishing nets to ice fishing.
Lunch in a Sami hut. Warm up in a traditional Sami hut with homemade reindeer soup or a vegan wild mushroom soup, served with fresh cold water and warm homemade berry juice.
The day runs about six hours, drive back included, with groups of two to eight people.
