Finnish saunas are a cornerstone of local culture, and this wood-fired floating sauna offers one of the most modern and memorable sauna experiences in Finland. Located on a double-decker boat, the sauna’s upper deck gives panoramic views across the Baltic Sea.
The sauna is designed for comfort: large windows, a cosy lounge area, toilet facilities, changing rooms, and a bar for a cold drink while soaking in the views.
The meeting point is Cafe Regatta, a well-known café on the seashore near the Sibelius Monument. Arrive a little early to enjoy a cinnamon bun or hot chocolate with a view over the Baltic Sea — your guide will be seated near the entrance 15 minutes before the start time, holding a Finnish flag.
From the café it is a short walk to the floating sauna, where your guide gives a welcome and safety briefing before the experience begins. Finland is an extremely safe country, including for solo travellers.
During the experience you will alternate between the sauna, a dip in the Baltic Sea, and relaxing in the lounge or on the balcony with a drink in hand (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), in a small group of up to four guests. A few other guests who are not part of your tour may also be aboard the boat.
Travelling with someone who won’t join the sauna? They can wait nearby at the café or a restaurant, at a playground near the Sibelius Monument, or at Töölö library, which has a toddler play area and is surrounded by cafés.
